Villefranche-sur-Mer

Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the most charming and authentic fishing villages on the French riviera. Situated in the heart of the Cote d’Azur it’s the only medieval village right on the sea. Many local families have lived here for generations, some going back hundreds of years. You will frequently see neighbours hanging out of their windows greeting each other, chatting and watching the day go by. Mixed in amongst the local population is a thriving international scene with the area attracting a cosmopolitan group of visitors and residents year round. Last year during the Cannes Film Festival we observed Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas under La Petite Perl’s balcony photographing the beautiful buildings and chatting to the locals.

Villefranche-sur-Mer boasts a central location ideal for travel enthusiasts. Accessing the heart of Nice is effortless via the number 15 bus, conveniently stationed at L'Octroi in Villefranche's commercial district. Additionally, the train station, merely a 5-minute stroll from the apartment, serves as a gateway to exploring charming coastal towns, venturing into Nice, or for a more adventurous, cross-border day out the line goes all the way to Ventimiglia in Italy, just an hour away.
